Farlight 84, developed by FARLIGHT, represents a competitive, multi-platform hero-based battle royale set in a vibrant post-apocalyptic world in the year 2084. The title drops up to 60 players organized into squads of three onto dense, highly vertical urban battlefields. The mechanical gameplay blends traditional battle royale survival with elements of a tactical class-based hero shooter, drawing comparison to popular hybrid shooters on console and PC. Each hero in Farlight 84 possesses a distinct, upgradeable kit, dividing them into combat roles like Support (e.g., Ceana, who heals and shields allies) or Defense/Tank (e.g., Watchman, who redirects fire and deploys shields).

A defining feature of Farlight 84 is its emphasis on verticality and high-speed mobility systems. Players can slide, scale vertical walls, and utilize jetpack boosts to glide between high-rise structures, dodge incoming fire, or close distances during skirmishes. Additionally, the maps are populated with interactive mechanics, such as the "Rat Cannon," which launches squads across wide zones, and futuristic vehicles, including hover tanks and multi-legged mechanical exoskeletons.
