Tivify's core value lies in its cloud-based interactive television features. It includes an integrated cloud-based Network Video Recorder (nDVR) that lets users schedule recordings and store them on cloud servers. The app's timeline interface supports robust time-shifting, allowing viewers to restart a live broadcast, pause live streams, and rewind or fast-forward through content on supported channels. Additionally, Tivify provides a 7-day catch-up archive, letting users stream previously broadcasted programs on demand. To make discovery easier, the app uses an AI-driven recommendation engine that scans electronic program guide (EPG) metadata to suggest content based on viewing habits.

Tivify operates under a freemium model, offering a free, ad-supported tier alongside premium expansions like Tivify Plus and Tivify Premium. The premium tiers expand the channel catalog and grant access to specialized thematic networks. Recently, Tivify has expanded its FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) lineup, adding premium international feeds like the BBC's Doctor Who and Top Gear channels. However, the app has some technical limitations. Content licensing restricts the service to Spain, meaning users will encounter geographical blocks if they try to access streams from abroad. Additionally, security reviews highlight that some telemetry data and user information are transmitted without full encryption, which presents a security concern on public networks.
